Default The classic Dodge Trans Problem!

I have an 01 ram 1500 with the 5.2l 4X4. At about 80,000 miles i had to get the trans rebuilt. Summer of 2014 the gov. pressure solenoid and sensor went in it and i got new ones put in. It now has 102,000 Both times that the trans went it wouldnt downshift itself into first gear it would always start in second. its doing this again but theres no codes at all. even when i manually put it into 1st it sometimes will go in and sometimes wont. The rebuild only has about 20,000 miles on it. im pretty sure that its the sensors again but i dont wanna bu everything and have it not solve the problem. Im pretty sure its the sensors again. Any other ideas???

Trans still under any kind of warranty? If it is, take it back to them.

Wouldn't surprise me . My trans was rebuilt also . When I bought the truck , no first gear starts unless done manually . I swapped in some old style sensors I had kicking around (known good) and been great ever since . I did also order new HD Borg Warner ones and just haven't put them in yet . The rebuilt used the old style ones , they may have been original ? I'd get the new sensors myself (complete kit from Cascade transmissions) but also remove and clean the valve body since you don't always get manual 1st gear .

Get the BW solenoid, and make sure your TV cable is adjusted properly.
