Default Pass side lower control arm braket broke

So fixed one problem to find a new one. Where the lower control arm attaches to the front axle on the bottom broke. I'm not sure what to do. I would assume to fix this I need a whole new from axle. Any ideas?

I tryed welding the old one but it was to rusty and broke again on my first drive. Is that somthing they sell? And I could have to grind off the old one right? Is that safe to weld and grind on the axle

Any idea what will happen if I don't fix it right away and drive it till it's warmer out?

You run the risk of tossing your front axle. Carnage ensues. It is NOT safe to drive that way. Not to mention the possibility of your truck trying to use that control arm to pole vault with..... that wouldn't be fun either.

Might pick up some scrap steel, cut yourself a couple brackets that go all the way from top to bottom, and weld that on.....

Oh. I guess I have another day of laying in the snow at -10 out : ). You think some big u bolts and some good metal I could go right around the axle? Have you ever seen this done?

Ouch, that truly sucks. I hate working outside when it is incredibly cold out......

What I have seen is some of the lift kits that use brackets to move the control arm mounts. Something along those lines, that keep you in the stock location I think would be better....... If you have to pass any kind of safety inspection there, I doubt the U-bolt trick would pass...... That, and you really DON'T want to find out that it won't work, by having it fail while you are driving it.

Yes, I am paranoid.

So try and make one like what's already there and just grind off the old one? And weld the new one on. I'm not a great welder but I can weld ok. And my welder is the cheap one

Pretty much, I would leave some of the good metal (if any) so you have something to keep things lined up, and to weld to..... Doesn't matter if your welds are pretty, so long as they will hold. Make sure you get good penetration on the welds.
