EGR delete
Egr should only be on during accel or cruising, if it was on all the time the truck would stall out at idle. It remains closed until actuated by vacuum, if you want to delete it, just plug the vacuum line going to it.
I wonder how the later trucks get by without EGR.
Vacuum opens the valve. You don't wanna do that. (makes for all sorts of interesting performance problems.) The PCM grounds the control solenoid to CLOSE it. So if you simply disconnect the solenoid, Valve is getting vacuum all the time.
Mine also is a 95 5.9 with egr, Since I had done the motor and the EGR doesn't come with the air gap intake, I just took both little hoses to a " T " vacuum fitting and straight to the intake, Never gotten a code, But I do still have that little black round vacuum valve connected that went to the EGR on the motor,
