Test your injectors. Should be 12 ohms resistance across the pins.

I will check the injectors while I have the intake off. I have a parts engine that ran ok until the piston went through the oil pan. so I can take some parts off the top. Again I really appreciate the direction.

Pull the intake off the parts engine. (What year is the parts donor? and what year is your truck? Might have some sensor differences there...) if it will work on your truck, do all your repairs to that one, then, you can just swap the intakes, and call it a day.

The original donor, my truck and the parts truck are all 1996. I just started it and sprayed the intake down with ether. Ran great. definitely going to pull and repair the other and then swap them out.

Sorry its been some time since i've updated this. The intake swap was a success with full power and reliability restored to the truck. Thank you all very much for the help for the baffling issue I would not have been able to figure out.

Awesome. Did you do the timing chain and gears too? I did mine as a separate operation, and I was flat out AMAZED at how much better the truck ran.
