Default Transmission / torque converter

I have a 99 1500 4x4 with a 5.9. I got it last year with a bad xmsn so i pulled the one out of my 96 1500 and put it in. Not thinking things through the 96 truck has a stall kit on it that I hate which is now on the 99 . To get rid of this do i need to just change the torque converter ? I need to replace my rear main and would like to do it all at once any help / advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Yep, torque converter determines stall speed.

I think the difference is stall speed..... maybe. They *should* be pretty much the same.
