Need to find out what exactly is wrong with yours. Bushings are about the only wear items in the distributor unless your shaft is bent. ??? They will usually last the life of the engine. Get a used one at a local junk yard and give it the shop. Save some $$$ if that's all that's wrong with it.

I'm having some bucking issues. Mine is due to spark plug wires and the routing is horrible. Try routing to tsb granted even if that's not the problem in itself.

Depends on what they think the problem with the dist is.... if the shaft wanders around in its bore, the can cause some wonky behavior......

I got the truck back today. I'll know if it's fixed for good after a few days of driving. The bushings were bad. The shop changed them and the cam sensor which was under warranty still. After all is said and done 148 dollars. I can feel a huge difference in power also.

That's actually not a bad price........ (would be worth it to me not to have to do it myself for that kind of money. )

Drive it for a few days, and lets us know.

The problem is still here. It's not nearly as bad but my tac style jumps and my truck still jerks. There is a so a like chirping noise coming from my engine. The shop said I have low compression in cylinder 2. But I don't think it'd low enough to cause any problems.

Did they give you the numbers for compression? If it is significantly lower than all the rest..... that can indeed be a problem.

Have you changed the crank sensor yet? If so, what brand?

I don't think it was that low. I didn't get the actual pressure. I don't think it's the problem because I've blown a head gasket before on this truck and it does not feel like that. In addition I put rebuilt heads on it when I replace the gasket 40k miles ago. I'm going to have him change the crank sensor. I can't imagen anything else dropping my tac but the crank sensor.
