For those that have replaced control arm bushings...I noticed the original bushings were "staked" or had the none flange end bent over with a punch to keep them from walking out over time.

I haven't seen this on other vehicles I've done.

The reason I ask is, I had one upper control arm with both bushing that were loose in the control arm. They had worn to the point they were no longer a press fit. Obviously I had to buy a new control arm. My observation was this - They are trapped on both sides by the mounting brackets and if they wear they will be loose in the control arm anyway.

To me it looks like an extra step that just makes them harder to get out when they need to be replaced.

Just curious if this is standard practice and if you feel it is important.
