Default Posi-Lock

Now this is making me mad as hell, I got this Posi lock for the front axle, convert from vacuum to cable controlled. Now I have adjusted this dang thing more times than I wanted to, I am about tired of getting under the truck and pulling the same 4 bolts. My 4WD light is on when disengaged and off when engaged, Now I am asking anyone that pulled the cover off there front rear for the vacuum 4WD, Which side is the slide on when disengaged? left side or the right side of the 2 axles?
when disengaged axle collar is slid over to the right half of axle and the light is on and the cable **** is pushed in to resting spot, when engaged light is off and collar is over both axle halves and the **** is pulled out. I have played with every combination on this. Now to start from square one Which side does the original collar rest while disengaged from 4WD ?

Did it come with a switch? The stock feller is normally open, and is on the drivers side of the housing. The posi-lock has the switch on the passenger side, doesn't it? With the cable coming in from the drivers side? That would imply it should be a normally closed switch, which opens when you put the truck in two wheel drive.....

With the collar all the way to the passenger side, front axle is disengaged. Pull it toward the drivers side, so it engages both axles, and that is... engaged.

Yes it came with a switch, I was thinking about it possibly the switch is wrong or instead of being a closed switch they sent me a open switch. and yes you are correct the cable comes in from the driver side and the switch is on the passenger side.. I wish I could keep my sons attention long enough to help while I'm under this truck, but now he is more interested in talking to his little girl friend instead of helping his old man.

Call the company you bought it from, let them know what the problem is, they *should* send you the correct switch.

It's a DC circuit, it doesn't care which wire is which. Need a different switch to solve the issue.

That will most certainly removed a great deal of the annoyance factor.
