New throttle body now bad shifts.
Alright so I have the hughes intake manifold installed since last year. Finally saved enough to buy the throttle body as well. Just installed it now I'm having issues. The truck shifts quite hard now between reverse neutral and drive almost bucks. And after I drive it and it's in park the engine is holding steady at 1200rpm which is a lot higher than it used to be. When I shut the engine off its like I'm killing it when it still has more power to give shakes the truck a bit. Just wanted to know if this is normal or what.
What size TB? Did you disconnect both positive and negative battery cables and touch them together to clear the PCM memory.
PCM will need to learn the idle adjustment, takes a few warm up cycles. As for the hard shifting it could be related to the high idle or it could be that you missed something when installing the new TB.

Read the directions that came with your throttle body more than once. Which throttle body did you get?
you will have to tune the TPS (recommend get a new one), in the directions you must have .05 or .08 volts coming out of the TPS I'll have to read it again to be sure. That will knock down the idle. Hughes recommends that you drill out the steel sleeves in the TPS and file the holes so you can rotate the TPS in order to get the correct voltage coming out of TPS. I have battled mine till I got it correct. you also could have a vacuum leak, the 4 bolts supplied with the throttle body needs a dab of RTV sealant in each corner so you don't get vacuum leak, Also your AIC could be stuck and might need to be replaced, If you have moved the magnetic plunger a touch while " cleaning it or sprayed cleaner on it" that will jack the sensor up quickly. make sure that the cold air sensor is clean and sealed in the intake tube.

I did not touch the positive and negative thought a negative disconnect did the reset I'll try that today. The screws all got sealant on them. It's the big gulp tb 1000+cfm. It said the tps mod was optional so I didn't do it but if you guys think it's a must I will do it.

You can see what kind of voltage readings you are getting out of the tps. If they are not within spec you need to do the mod.
