I'm going to search the forum now for band adjustment instructions. And like you recommended 1997JollyGreenGiant, a drain plug kit will be located,bought,and installed!
In a similar thread, I read that by unplugging the 8 pin connector on the drivers side of trans may help to pinpoint problem... Electrical, or hydraulic/mechanical. My first gear still acted as if it were slipping, I didn't feel a gear change as I put shifter to the 2nd gear position, but did feel gear changes when shifter was put in drive position!? From what I have read I had better start saving my coins for a rebuild!
