No stickers on the PCM about reflashing it. Theres one with some barcodes and crap, but thats it. There is another one on the crossmember thing under the hood. Says something like "Ignition timing and Idle Air/Fuel mixture have been preset at the factory..." Thats probably not it though. Hmm I need some more idea's folks

And I dunno if I said this already but it is 4x4 ext. cab with LSD.

My Ram has the sticker in the engine compartment indicating a re-program as well (was wondering what that meant). How do you reprogram it so it will have more power?

Also - if I re-program it, does that mean I will have to start using higher octane gas? Gas is still $2.75 for 87 octane and $2.95 for 91 octane at the discount pumps here. I am a cheap bastard but I would like to have more power!!

take those 2.5" dual outs down to 2.25" and then give it a try. I had a simiar setup to yours when I 1st put my exhaust on and couldnt get out of my own way for the life of me... brought the out's down to 2.25" and you couldnt keep the sheet ars grin off my face... [sm=gears.gif]

do it!

do this 1st... I'm sure it's part of your problem.

to get rid of the death flash, get a programmer from hypertech or superchips. this will overwrite the timing and fuel curves on the pcm. when you go back to stock however, the original (death flash) programming is put back in the pcm.

So is the one I have under my hood the "death flash"???

I'm sure not gonna spend like $200+ to have the guy put on 2.25" inch pipes.

The computer is on the passenger side firewall inside the engine compartment. I will try to get a pic but it is too dark now so I will have to get it tomorrow and post it. The only ways I have heard of being able to conteract the death flash is either a upgraded PCM or the use of a programmer. I am going to go with the programmer myself.

dont need to spend $200 bux on it. I had mine done for $40 bux and that included some extra welding.
