Default High flow cats

Hey i have a 2001 ram 1500 with 5.2l. I have heard that putting a high flow cat on will turn on the check engine light. Ive also heard that some will not. Has anyone put a high flow cat on a 5.2L and not have a CEL go on??

Running 2 hi-flo Dynomax cats on my V10 with no lights or issues for 2 years now.

Go for it.

Cutting your cat out and replacing with a piece of stright pipe will do it though

I have Magnaflow Cat on my 1997 5.9 and have no issue with it.

Like HamBone said, straight piping it will set off a Check Engine Light, and it's illegal.
