Default Leaf Spring Hanger

I need to replace the rear leaf spring hanger on my 2500.

I'm guessing I will have to grind off the heads of the rivets on the old one. I assume I will have to use bolts to install the new one. Does anyone know what grade and size bolts I will need to get?

Has anyone done this? Any tips or advice?

You want to use at least grade 8 bolts. Not sure of the size.

I've never had good luck getting shackle bolts out. Usually had to torch the bolt out. But its possible with a Big hammer, big impact driver, lots of heat and muscle. Start spraying the bolt down acouple times a day with PB blaster for about a week and it makes the Job 100 times easier when your ready to do it.

I have already removed the shackles. I am replacing the actual spring hanger that's on the frame.

Got the new bracket? Yep, grind off the rivets, get some appropriate size grade-8 hardware, and bolt 'em back on.

I don't have the bracket yet. I will attempting to get one at my local Dodge dealer. If they don't have one or it is way over priced, LMC Truck has them for about $85.
