just checked the injectors. they are hooked up right. i have another question. on the passenger side of the intake manifold there are 3 ports. the pcv valve goes to the larger one. the other 2 are the same size. one is a little higher up then the other one. when i put things back together i was not completely sure how they went. right now i have the one thats closet to the front going to the map sensor and the other one goes into the dash. is that correct?

Close enough, because it doesn't matter which goes where as long as none are leaking.

Same as firing order. The way the wiring harness is laid out though, if you just let the connectors fall where they want, without being twisted up, or crossed over, they will be in the right spot. (they come out of the harness in the correct order.)

Check your throttle body position sensor. Mine went out, truck started running rough. Had a delay when I pressed on the accelerator

ok so i replaced the iac valve and the o2 sensor. took it for a long ride. it goes good at 60 mph. still not idling right. almost like it surges. its low and tries to go up but cant. also the oil light will come on and sometimes the oil gauge will drop when its idling really low or when i turn around a corner. fuel gauge doesnt work right either but im not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Check the connector on the oil pressure sensor.... maybe bumped in when you were playing with the distributor. If that seems ok, just replace it, they are notorious for going bad in any event.

Did you reset the PCM after changing stuff?

i unhooked the battery when i changed things. does that reset it? will the oil pressure sensor affect idle? why does the truck seem to run better if i unplug a vaccum line?

That does indeed reset it.

More air. Wonder if it isn't running a tad rich? What year is your truck?

You should fill out your sig, and profile, so folks could just look and see what ya got.
