Looking to get a new truck, i have 98 ram now
I was looking at getting a newer model truck I wanted to stick with Dodge as I have always had good luck with them. My 98 just seems like not enough on a few aspects, but still is a great truck.
I wanted a turbo diesel, long bed with the suspension that can handle anything I put at it.
I loaded 2 bobcat buckets of dirt in my 1500 long bed and the suspension was all the way down and front end was up, tires bulging, braking was terrible, but the 5.2 handled it up these Pittsburgh hills.
Plus I want newer bells and whistles like anything new lol.
I noticed that it seems with the 2500/3500 they are only making them with a 6 cy turbo diesel.... do they not offer a v8 or v10....
End all goal is I just want to handle anything at ANY time. I load my dirt bike, or quad or both, pull a standard 8 ft trailer for any reason, but I want to be able to pull a boat, car, bobcat, backhoe etc if need be.
So any ideas.

If you want to stick with dodge, then you're only going to get a 6 cyl diesel in the best diesel ever made in a pickup, cummins. If you want a V8 diesel, you've got to go ford or chevy. Sounds like a 3/4 cummins is all you'll need for the list of things you'd do that you provided. can't really go wrong with any age of cummins with the exception of 99...I think they had some block cracking issues. That's the B53 block.
