Default 4WD Wheel Bearing Recommendations

Hi all,

Searched for this but all I could find was "don't get cheap Chinese crap"

Took the truck into get an alignment because one wheel looked misaligned and my steering wheel wasn't straight. Mechanic comes back out and turns out to be my wheel bearing in completely shot. So much play I do not feel safe driving it.

I needed the truck this weekend and was going to try to get this done by then so I will need to source my parts from O'Reillys or AutoZone. What brands do I need to look out for? Any other tips?

Quote from the shop was $500, parts, labor, and alignment.

Thanks,

Patrick

Thanks, I took the truck home right after the shop to get my car since seeing how bad it was. I will check for the ABS lines when I get home.

Getting closer, and in the scheme of things its only been a few hundred dollars to get this bad boy all fixed

Picked up National brand with 3 year warranty. Going to tackle it tomorrow after work.

1 11/16th socket is the size for a 1500, correct?

You will also need a 14MM 12 point socket to remove the bolts that hold the hub bearing to the knuckle. I prefer an impact grade socket for that job.

Thank you! I will pick one up or borrow one from a friend. Guessing this will also help the hop I would get when braking hard at high speeds.
