Haven't checked the battery. I'll have to do that next. Thanks

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, just had to throw this out there
Now on the distributor cap for a 5.9 the cap can only go on one way right because of the flat spot that goes up against the intake manifold

That's right. There is only one place where the tooth on the hold down can fit into. When we pulled the intake manifold the distributor was turned backwards and the hold down was just bolted in enough to not fall out. Somehow this thing has been running since I bought it in February and I haven't lost the distributor.

I have 2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with 5.9 gas engine. Vehicle rolled past 390,000 miles recently. Bought crate motor for change out. Prior to change truck would just die at varying speeds. It would not stumble just go full dead. Immediately thought fuel pump or relay as not first time. No codes thrown. Changed fuel pump out several times using o Reilly precision pump. Bought new relay. Vehicle would still quit running randomly. Again no codes. Changed fuel pump source. Same problem. Proceeded with engine replacement. All sensors including tps, iat, crank, changed. Map and iac reused but tested good. Vehicle ran good during initial breakin, but it started acting up again during run ups. Idle was alittle bouncy with obd II plugged in. It would vary 30 to 40 rpm, but continue to run. All gauges in the good. Ran rpm up to around 2000 for 60 seconds. Initially was strong, than just dies after about 15 seconds. Would not restart. Checked all connection and fluids. Waited approximately 10 minutes than restarted. Let idle for 15 than shut down for night. Only observations I encountered was that both fuel pump and asd relays were borderline hot to touch. Any ideas would be great appreciated. Sorry I did not figure out how to start own thread.

Thank you for the help. I will replace the IAC today. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I don't think that's an IAC problem.... If it quits running even with your foot on the gas, IAC isn't doing anything at that point.

Ok. Do you have an idea what might be causing this issue? Thank you

Need to know what's missing when it quits. Likely something is getting hot, and failing.
