Default 1997 clutch/trans issue?

After a through search nothing found...

1997 ram 1500 5.2 nv3500 5 speed 4x4. 140K original clutch, trans engine ect.

Problem is when i hold in the clutch too long (more than 5 seconds) with the truck in first or reverse the pedal gets "kinda stuck" wont come back up and gets stuck in gear. I usually have to turn the truck off or it will buck and stall. To correct this problem i usually need to give alot of gas and not sit on the clutch. Kinda of a pita when trying to back up a boat.

The trans shifts flawlessly in every gear, engine runs excellent, and clutch grabs great with no problems.

Is the pedal itself binding? What do you have to do to get it to come up?

Pedal is not binding up... i usuall have to turn the truck off and pump the clutch pedal up to get it back to normal.

That's just weird...... might be time to start disassembling the system, and see if you can isolate the problem......

Either that, or something with the throwout bearing/clutch fork...... Might wanna pull the slave cylinder, and see what things look like down there.

The pedal sticking down though *shouldn't* be caused by a failing t/o bearing..... maybe the pressure plate?
