Default 1999 2500 v10; crank, no start

from one moment to nxt, starter just spins. no pwr to fuel pump and ASD relays on term for "key on"; but do have batt. pwr at correct term. ALL fuses and relays tested and good. Cldn't find fuel pmp fuse Haynes manuel ref'd to anywhere-schematic does show a 20 amp tho? No pwr into coil paks, and of course no spark. code device came up w/ "no link" and 2nd one w/ "link error". Oh, when turn key on, 3/4 sec. odom blinks and engine light comes on at same time what appears to be "no bus" appears in odom window.
Everything else elect. seems to be ok. Sure got me mystified!

Sounds like a bad computer to me. Do you have a spare that you can swap onto the truck to see if that makes a difference?

no spare computer. Is the "computer" considered the PCM ore ECM? Do U think it could be the crankshaft sensor, or possibly the camshaft sensor. The manual says if no signal to the PCM, the ASD will shut the engine down-no pwr to the pump or ASD relay, which is true in my case. thanks for your response!

failed commum. in the PCM: is there any further test to confirm this that I can make? Or is this when I take it to a shop w/ proper diag. tools?

PCM and ECM are likely referring to the same thing - the computer module mounted to your firewall, which is held on by three screws, I believe. If you can find a computer off another V-10 truck with options similar to yours, I suspect this will fix your issue.
