Default Pcm differences

Anyone know if a 5.2 computer will work just like a 5.9 just by being swapped? Or will it feed the 5.9 not enough power or something. Same thing with diesel and v10s

You can use a v-8 computer (of the same 'generation'....) with either motor. In open loop, mixture won't be quite right, (and I would be hesitant to run a 5.9 on a 5.2 computer at higher RPM, in open loop.....) But, in closed loop, O2 sensor will adjust things.

V-10 PCM is it's own private animal. But, once again, PCM's of the same 'generation' can be swapped without trouble. (may have to get it flashed to the correct VIN for 98 and up.)

Diesel: Again, use the same 'generation of PCM, and it shouldn't be a problem.

So, 94-95, 96-97, 98-2002 for gas engines, and probably the same for diesels.
