Default Cab lights

I'm going to put some cab/clearance lights on my 2001 2500 and was wondering if any of you knew the measurements for the exact placement of the lights or where I could find them? I'd like to get them as close to possible as where they would have been if they came from the factory. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Some lights come with a templet. When you let your headliner down there may be a built in templet...

Has anyone else ever done cab lights their selves. I've been thinking about it but didn't know how much of a pain it would be with taking the head liner out and everything. My truck is my daily driver right now so I can't have much downtime with projects.

You don't need to pull the headliner out all the way. Just the front part near the windshield. I did my 00 Ram 5 years ago and if I remember it only took a few hours.

Ok I JUST did mine.... dropt he headline allthe way,its worth it, i havea tiny hole my visor hides now
I have the template still I think...somewhere..... also, the factory kitis VERY worth getting.. TAKE YOUR TIME, oh,and put a old bedsheet inside your truck, the catch the shavings(VERY GOOD IDEA) also, cover your windsheil and hood in a sheet and TAPE the entrire top edge to keep shavings from getting under your wipers... this all makes clean up VERY easy....

Do the 1500s already have a wiring harness up there that the lights plug into or what kind of situation did you have wiring the lights up?

Thanks for the tips mdoffroad. I sure don't want to punch through the headliner with the old drill bit!
