97 ram 1500 5.2 4x4. Ill keep a long story short. Tranny was stuck in second gear. Problem was the tv cable frayed and got stuck "engaged" inside of the cable sheath. replaced the tv cable, now the tranny skips second gear, goes from 1st to 3rd @ around 2500 rpm, if I let off the pedal slightly. Cable is adjusted to repair manual suggestions. Any thought what this could be??????

 

Might be time to drop the pan, and see if you find anything interesting in there.
