I titled my 1500 as a 3/4 . Your cheapest way would be add a leaf spring helper. Which are cheap. Their like a extra set of springs that mounts on top without tearing everything apart. Adding a electronic brake assist if the trailer is equip and changing the gear ratio. U can probably pick up a Dana 60 rear for a decent price. My main concern would be stopping that much weight. Not getting it moving. Brakes are the most important piece of that puzzel. That's one of the main differences between the 1500 and 2500. All the 5.9L are paired to the same trans I beleive. Not 100% thou

In what state did you manage that? And keep in mind, it isn't about just load capacity, its being able to STOP that load as well. A half-ton truck pulling a 3/4 ton truck sized load, with only half-ton brakes, is a disaster waiting to happen.

Hhhmmm..... Your vin number will tell the tale. After all, that is what the insurance companies will go by.

Since it's titled 3/4 should my insurance have a copy of that and my weight class registration? What character represents 3\4 or 1\2 in the Vin I'll check it out. I'm just going by what they told me and allowed me to do when I bought it from the dealership. I got my class stick like a month ago and had to send a copy of the weight class to my insurance

Have a look here. 4th digit is weight class, 6th is vehicle series. (this is the one your insurance company will look at.

As others have already said the 1/2 ton can't safely tow it. If it was just a 2 horse trailer then I would say yes you can but not a 3 horse with living space too.

Find a 1 ton truck either a V-10 or diesel and get it. If you can find a dually even better. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise because you want to be safe. Or should I say you want your mom & sister safe. If you don't care about brand then look at all 3 and find the best choice and buy it. The nice thing about Ford and Chevy is they have a big block to offer also. And for a lot longer than the V-10 was offered. Any gas rig is going to SUCK fuel. Don't get a Chevy diesel as the older ones are crap. The Dodge or Ford in diesel is great.

Plow in the winter, mow in the summer... you're just an all-seasons kinda guy ;-)
