Thanks for the reply... I was trying to do it without messing with my new battery. The way I read that is the complete way to do this is from another forum. It says...
Remove the #19 fuse (02-03) or #23 fuse (04-present). Buckle seat belt. Turn and hold key in start position until you hear 2 chimes. The first is your engine PCM resetting the second is your trans PCM resetting. Remove key and reinstall your fuse/relay. Your PCM is reset.
However, I don't know which fuse to pull for a 1998!

98 isn't quite as intelligent as the 02 and up fellers. Just disconnect the battery, turn on the headlights for a few seconds, turn 'em back off, then reconnect the battery. That will most certainly reset the PCM. (and your radio presets.)
