coolant temperature sensor

Default coolant temperature sensor

I was looking to replace my coolant temperature sensor but cant find it at any auto parts store the are slightly bigger NEED HELP. My truck is 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2.

If you searched down to your make/model, they should all fit.
The difference will be brand, quality, price.

I did that at autozone, orileys, advance pep boys. Tryed 6 different ones at all parts places and took the old one with one

My friend that works at oreilly put the part number that's one my old one but the ones it said did not fit

Have you tried one from a 2000 ram with the 5.2? they changed the sensor that year...you might have a late production 99 with some 2000 parts on it. OR your truck might actually be considered a 2000 model year. I worked at advance auto and I ran across those vehicles from time to time....sticker on the door said one year but the car had parts from a model year newer or older on it. really confuses the owners sometimes.

Edit: Look at rock auto and compare the listings for the 99 and the 2000....it actually looks like two different sensors were used in 99 but they went to all one type of sensor in 2000...

Tried that already when up to 2001 and no luck going to the dealer on Monday
