Driveshaft play/ Center bearing & shaft
Hi,
Well, I looked but can't find answer. With the trans in neutral and tc in neutral I see that when twisting the shaft it rotates about 1/4 in. or so. Is this normal play for proper operation of the drive train? I don't detect any play in the u-joints.

Also, Is it normal to be able to push up the shaft in the center? I am wondering if the the rubber shield is supposed to hold it tight.

Actually, that little slop is stellar. Most folks can turn 'em further.
Take a close look at the center support bearing, and it's mounts, I don't think you should be able to deflect that much, if at all, with just your hands......
