ive just always been curious...0-60?
hmm...I've never tested mine..But my opinion about them is that the 5.9 doesn't seem to have the greatest take-off because it takes it a little while to build up torque. I'll test mine one day..I have a 01 2wd reg cab w/5.9. It runs like a scalded *** ape when ur rollin about 35-39 mph and punch it. Kicks down to 1st and pops the rev limiter in no time. I raced a guy one time from a dead stop. He had a 98 2wd reg cab w/350 vortec slightly moded. We both spun bad at the start and he got about a truck length lead until I got around 4000rpms in 1st and then it was all over. Spanked that a$$. We raced again...this time from a rollin start of about 35...he never hung with me and I had a very long lead on him by the time it was over. -Tyler

Mine does that same thing. I can sit and roast the tires till i'm grindin the wheel..what i'm talkin about is after it gains trackion the rpms climb a little slow at first until I reach about 2800 rpm. You've also got to take into consideration that I'm running 285/60R16 Goodyear Eagle GTII tires. I can catch second gear no problem on dry pavement...if its wet...well lets just say that its not pretty. I can't even imagine what it would be like to run factory size tires on mine...they would'nt last long. -Tyler

Strange, my 97 5.9 auto will flat get with it on take off. If you stomp it from a dead stop it will just sit and spin the tires till they are bald. I cant stomp on my gas till I am rolling at least 30 mph with out it spinning most of the time. The short bed standard cab is just to rear end light to test. And God forbid you even thnk about trying it on wet pavment, thats just a mission in suicide. I am sure if you check around enough you can find the info you are looking for.

Sorry I should have said, I am running 265x75x16's so a bit taller then stock, my rears are A/T's so a bit more traction then just street tires. God forbid I dont have any weight in the back on wet pavement,,[sm=badidea.gif]
Ok this wont sound good but You have to listen. I have 33 inch tires 3 inch lift and stock 3.55 gears. I stoped at right before a high way on ramp and it was a big hill so i know it wont be the best time but all in all it took 15 secs to get to 60 on the hill (thats with a 5.9 ex-cab 4x4
I would change the gears to 4.10 or 4.56...that would almost cut the 0-60 time in half. -Tyler

haha, you need a stopwatch.....the 95 4x4 i had was 9 or so. something in the 5 range is corvette type numbers. In response to the fact that some people claim theirs is slow on takeoff and others say theirs is fast, its an individual opinion. I used to drive a 1978 ford f100. when i first got my 1995 dodge i thought it was pretty fast off the line.....the more i drove it the more i realized it wasnt.... now since i'm used to the speed of a 1000 cc sportbike, the old ram could use another 100 hp for me to even begin to say its remotely quick. the guy i sold it to did run a 16.5 in the 1/4 at mid 80s so i know the 15 second 0-60 reported is a good bit off.
http://www.epinions.com/auto-review-...39BF0FE7-prod1 this isn't the same truck, but it has the 360 and they said under 6, its not very reliable. all i can find right now
