Default Intake Manifold Removel "Help please"

I am trying to go through and replace my gaskets for the intake and heads. Its looking like I should replace the plenum plate as well. The intake is giving me a headache, theres a metal pipe on the back side of the intake manifold that leads to the left exhaust manifold. Does it detach from the back side of the intake or detach from the exhaust manifold?

Actually, it does both. But, as it is an exhaust pipe, so to speak, it likes to rust up really nice, and become a real bear to remove. Chemicals are going to be your best friend here. PB Blaster, or some other penetrating lubricant. WD-40 isn't going to work. Heat may also help on the exhaust manifold side. I don't know if that tube is still available in the aftermarket. Its the EGR crossover pipe..... You *could* just disable EGR altogether, cut the pipe, and plug the holes, but, you may get codes about the non-functioning EGR......
