I rechecked the spark plugs because i was rushing through it last time. All the plugs except cylinder 5 and 7 are sooty. All fuel injectors are 12.2 ohms. I'm really thinking its an ignition problem. I have msd 8.5mm wires on order but they won't arrive for a few days. I don't want to use stock 7mm wires which is what i put on the truck because they seem to be problematic. Is spark plug wire routing as critical with thicker 8.5mm wires? I'm gonna recheck the o2 sensor wires for broken or kinked wires. I want to check the o2 sensor connector pins with a multi meter but I don't know what i'm looking for (volts, ohms, etc.). Im second guessing my new cap and rotor too. It is a standard motor products blue streak cap and rotor with brass contacts. I specified one with brass contacts at the parts store and thats what the one they sold me. Does this seem like an ignition problem? Also what would be the best thing to use for checking vacuum leaks? I used brake kleen but i dont know if thats the best thing to use. Thanks

Swap the injectors on 5&7, with the ones on 1&3. See if your sooty plugs move as well.

Routing is less of an issue with better wires, but, still doesn't hurt.

I'll try swap injectors on the left bank, also gonna swap 2 and 4 with 6 and 8. Do the injectors have to go back in a specific order or can they be left where i put them? Also i replaced the coolant temp sensor with a napa sensor when i swapped intakes. Could this be causing it to run rich? The temp gauge is a little higher than it was with the older one, its about a needle width away from the center mark. It used to be about 2 needle withs away. Thanks

All the injectors are exactly the same, so, where they go into the rail just doesn't matter. Which connector goes to which injector though, DOES matter, and it is critical that they are correct. Connectors come out of the harness in correct order, so, just make sure you don't have any of them crossed over.

Default Cylinder 2 and 4 misfire, p0135 code

I got the injectors swapped around, fired it up and could smell raw fuel, cylinder 5 injector was spraying fuel where it connects to the rail. I must have messed up the o ring. Are these o rings the same as the ones at the base of the injector?

Yeah, you can get a full set of them for just a few bucks at most any parts store. Lubing them a bit to make them slide in easier is a good plan.

Unplug it, and see if it runs better.

If unplugging it didn't make any difference, the sensor is probably fine. You can find values for what resistance across the circuits is supposed to be in the service manual.
