Post stutter/stammer at 1200 rpm

1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 L stammers (almost sounds like a miss or vacuum leak) at 1200 rpm mostly after shifting to overdrive. I've read elsewhere that it could be torque converter problem and was told that distributor and rotor button might need to be changed. Any advice would be appreciated.

yes I have however will probably have to do it again. The young man that works on my truck says there is a kit that will be a permanent fix. I've ran better gas in my truck and it seems to have stopped the sputtering for now. I'm still not convinced it may not be the torque converter or perhaps just need to change distributor cap and rotor button.

Thanks for the reply

Wouldn't hurt to have a look at the various ignition parts, if they haven't been changed in a while.
