Default Turn to start and nothing

Hello, it started last weekend when I was pulling into my drive my 2001 ram died as I stopped. I tried to restart and nothing. All the dash light will not work but when I turn the key the power windows, the head lights and dome light and AC all work but when I go to turn it over nothing. I have looked online and most saying the ignition switch or starter which I'm checking but would like to have some input from Ram owners

Any help would be welcomed

Thanks

Probably the switch. Starter wouldn't cause the dash lights to not work. One way to check for bad starter is turn the key and listen for the relay to click. If you don't here a click switch the starter relay with another and try again. If nothing again probably ignition switch

Thanks from all I can tell its the switch as the there is a click. I'm having a issue pushing the tab in to get the cylinder off, do you know what size security screws are in there so I can get the right security screwdriver to get them out so I can just take the whole ignition switch off.

Thanks

If it does click the starter may be bad. Do you have any way of testing power to the starter? And unfortunately I do not. I have a set with different sizes and I never checked mine

Knock starter with something heavy... a hammer is good, while someone holds the key in crank position. If it jumps to life, it's the starter.

Don't rule the battery out. I had the same symptoms with a bad cell in my battery.

if your battery is charged and you turn the key and it clicks its most likely the starter. If it turns but wont fire its probably your fuel pump or relay.

Check your trigger wire, the wire and stud broke out of my starter
