Default NV 3500 to NV 4500 behind a 318

I have a 1997 1500 extended cab 318 magnum 3 in body lift with a nv 3500 and a np231d. I am wanting to possibly put a nv 4500 in. is it s direct replacement and will the np231 still fit or will i need the np 241. any help is appreciated

The 4500 is physically larger, but, aside from that, I do believe it is a direct bolt-in. Of course, I think it is also longer... so, driveshaft length might be an issue.

Yep ittl bolt up just fine. Not sure how long a 3500 is I've never had my hands on one. But the 4500 is pretty short.

Not quite direct bolt in. You'll want the 241 tcase as well if you have a 4x4, much easier than trying to match up splines and such. And if you're getting the nv4500 from a diesel you need the v8 bellhousing and input shaft.
