96 ram cup holder replacement
Hey guys, so I've been wondering about a new cup holder for my truck, the stock drink holder on the 2nd gen Rams are junk! Just this morning I dumped my coffee all over me on my way to work. So my question is this, what kind of replacements or fixes have you found? I was looking a little online and found a cup holder that connects to the existing center console. Anyone have any experience with this? Crappy product, is it worth the money? I'm really tired of cleaning soda out of my carpets !
Yeah, why they decided to mount the cupholder way up at the top of the dash is beyond me, that was phenomenally stupid. Depending on which company you are looking at, the one that mounts to the center console can be quite good.
I bought one made by Glow Shift a while back and love it. Pics here

EDIT: Oh may not fit your 96, sorry

Great minds think alike.
I just saw this but I already made one. I used a couple of 3" abs caps with short pieces of abs glued into them (to hold the cups) screwed onto a piece of 1/4" plywood. The plywood just wedges under the console and stays nicely in place. Removable too, if need be. I may still get one of these, but it's down on the modding list.

I've heard some good reviews on Geno's http://www.genosgarage.com/product/c...497/cup-holder

This is what I made for just a few bucks, cup holders and "stuff" holder in the middle. Now, I just need to paint it, once it gets warm again. The carpet on the plywood is just to add a bit more friction, but it stays in place really well without it too.
