What Did He Do To My Differential ..
A stock ratio of 3.21 was never an option.
Hhmmm, I'm getting a bit confused. I went to this Dodge site,
http://dodge.custhelp.com/app/dodge/...VFU3BubQ%3D%3D
entered my vin and got a pdf, listing all the parts to my truck and it says 3.21 rear axle ratio.
I went by the place today where my repair guy got the parts, and the only one they carry is the 3.55, and that's the one making my gearing seem so much lower, and the speedometer reading so much higher.

I'm listing the ratios for V8 1/2 ton trucks, but w/e
3.21 was definitely a factory ratio for 2wd. 4wd were either 3.55 or 3.92. Only 1500s to get 4.10 were Off-Road Editions in 2000-01.
Op: stick with 3.55. You will appreciate the power and mileage won't suffer. If you don't like them, get one size bigger tires. My 3.55s barely moved 265s and I've been on 285s for over five years now. You may not like them now, but higher gears are always an upgrade.

Oh Ramman good reply!
I deff don't like it now, my top highway speed is less, unless I really have the rpm up higher then I'm used to. Higher rpm is higher mileage isn't it?
I have the 265 tires now, which size should I get? What will that do, give me lower rpm / higher highway speed like I had before?
another question, how do I get my speedometer calibrated now?
