so he needs to put the same ratio back in, because I never tow a trailer, and I like the nice and easy low rpm top highway speed I had.

which parts does he need to replace?

I just got some new tires R601 265/70R16 which are slightly larger then my old ones.

Find out exactly what happened, old ratio vs. new ratio. Take it from there.

Well, he said that they don't make the pinion and gear for my truck anymore,

could that be true, and if so could I get them somewhere else?

Numerous companies make 3.55 gears for your truck. If he can't find them.... he isn't looking. Randy's Ring and Pinion probably has them on the shelf.

yeah, Randy's has them, I'll call them tomorrow!

matter of fact after I call them I'll check around locally, now that I know what the gear ratio should be. Any chance it could be some other ratio besides the 3.55 or is that a no brainer??

Really appreciate the advice :-)

Put your vin in here and it should tell you. Otherwise it should be on a sticker on your truck somewhere(mine was peeled off and is in the glovebox so don't know where)

Mine was actually attached to the under side of my hood. I've switched hoods though, the stick on my current hood peeled off...

3.55 and 3.92 are the only options
