Default 2001 dodge ram no power under heavy acceleration

I have a 2001 ram 1500 4x4. about a month ago it started loosing power under acceleration. When I step on accelerator the rpms go to 3000 and then start to reduce the longer I hold the pedal. this happens in drive as well as in neutral. If I drive down the road it will do fine all the way to 75mph but if I push it and really step on the throttle to go up hill or just to try getting to speed faster forget it. I have read some of the posts and have already replaced cat and both o2 sensors. looking in the throttle body really not that dirty. one thing I have noticed while having scan tool hooked up is the spark advance will increase normally to 40 degrees then when I stomp the pedal it drops to 15 or lower. I think it should stay advanced but not shure. need help

I'd check your cat. Had a similar problem with a jeep. Would go down the road fine until I would encounter a hill, then it's slowly lose speed even with the throttle to the floor.

This.

Usually a result of a blown plenum. (see the stickied thread at the top of this forum.)

Stickied threads are always at the top of the forum. They are 'stuck' there. (pinned is another term that is used.) You are looking for the "be-all, end-all, plenum thread. Most of the pertinent information is in the first couple pages, but, all of it is a good read. (over 80 pages.......)
