Hi, I'm here troubleshooting my 02 Ram Q-cab SLT 5.9L. Possible electrical issue. Started 6 months ago as engine dying at idle.(Makes left turns really exciting!) Suspect bad ground, pshing on streering wheel seemed to cause symptom. Went away for the last month or so, not sure where to start. Tried ignition switch, since gas gauge loses power, like the key was turned off, but still have other gauges and hvac fan. Now dash gauges go dead and no start with fuel pump erratic and power relays chattering. No error codes. Dash completes self test. Will start, but problem is getting more frequent.

1500 or 2500??

Check the connector underneath the power distribution center under the hood. Also check the connectors on the PCM. They like to corrode, and cause all sorts of headaches.

Welcome to DF!

2001?

I don't know how much the electrical changed from second to third gen...... May wanna post in the third-gen ram section. (even though your driveline probably looks a LOT like the second gen trucks. )
