Default High beams

01 2500 diesel high beams only work when pulling back on the multi switch
Click the switch and no lights Click again and low beams work
Changed bulbs 9004 changed switch twice ds739 switched wiper relay with security relay Checked continuity on both switches 18-19-20 seems good Can't see any wires loose on back of connector
Is pin 19 the ground coming in (common to high and low) and 20 the ground going to the bulb
If I ground the wire on pin 20 should the high beams come on?

You can download the 01 service manual from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W.

is your truck a sport, or not? (makes a difference.)

Welcome to DF!

HeyYou thank you for the link
I checked the pinout for the multi and it looks like 20 is high and 21 is ground should I try grounding 20?

Hmmm.... Looking at the 01 service manual, 8W-50-4, at the dimmer switch, pin 18, and 20, are going to be coming FROM the headlights, ground one or the other, should turn on one beam or the other. (looks like 20 is low, and 18 is high, red w/orange trace, and violet w/white trace, respectively)

If you have a meter, or test light, see if you are getting power at both locations.
