Default Which clutch NV3500 12" or 11"?

Getting ready to order my third clutch because the second one is crap and has only lasted two years. I got 160k out of the stocker and demanded my mechanic replace it with genuine OEM Sachs clutch. He claims he did. It has vibrated, squealed, and made other horrible noises since it was 6 months old.

As I search for the replacement, I still want a Sachs because nothing else is as good from parts stores. The stock engine does not warrant Centerforce and the like. I'm thinking the replacement is a bad part/disc/bearing and can't wait to tear into it myself to find out. According to RockAuto, there are two clutch sizes for the NV3500: a standard 11" OE kit, and an updated 12" kit. I like the look of the 12" with ten springs but it has less friction width and I don't know if it will fit the stock flywheel. Sachs does not offer a 12" flywheel. The stock disc only has five springs.

The 12" Sachs is made in Korea in partnership with Valeo while the 11" is made in Mexico. I really don't want to put the same crap kit in that has only lasted two years, but I also got 15 years out of the oem Sachs so I'm confused. I have also researched all over the net and there are no cross reference part numbers for Mopar to aftermarket. The Mopar clutch is over $600 but the one on RockAuto is $152. Big difference.

Can I put a 12" kit on the original flywheel? There's a 12" FW listed on RockAuto but not made by Sachs. Or do I have to use the 11"? Apparently, the 12" is an updated part but there is no evidence or discussion on forums anywhere. Again, confusing.

Here's the supposed "TSB" that is on RockAuto but also does not exist online anywhere else. http://www.rockauto.com/info/Sachs/TechBulletin39.pdf

Have I made anyone else confused now?

Alldata denies any knowledge of said tech bulletin...... (at least, I sure can't find it.) Every kit I find for the 1500's is 11"....... have you chatted with the dealer service department??

Well, other stores are listing 12" as well:

Oreillys:

Napa:

No, I have not called Dodge yet but since all the shops have gone to 12", I will confirm that with them first. But do I have to get a 12" flywheel then or can I reuse the stocker? There's an AMS flywheel on rockauto that says "12in can replace 11in".

Selfish bump.

I have to believe somebody here has a thought on the size. This is the most active 2nd gen forum, after all.

Best bet would be to have a chat with the dodge service department, and see what they have to say. Maybe PM DodgeCares here on this website?
