Default Drawbacks to doing the kegger mod?

Well, I have finally gotten around to doing the plenum repair and I am considering doing the kegger mod considering I already have it completely taken apart. I have been reading up on it and am not really hearing about any drawbacks to doing it. The truck is completely stock, but I am looking into doing a few minor things, such as a CAI, not sure if that really makes a difference.

So, would it be worth it to do this mod? I have heard that cutting the runners will result in some loses in low end torque, so would just removing the center divider (without cutting the runners) have any significant benefits? Also, would the loses in low end hurt towing or carrying capacity?

Thanks!

Ditch the center divider as later trucks don't have it as Chrysler finally decided it was stupid.

The rest of the mod is a whole Lotta work for very minimal (if any) gain.

Use the hours of labor I just saved you as justification to buy 1.7 roller rockers. Or more gas. Or a Hemi. Depends on how much you value your time

What kind of gains can I expect from just removing the center divider?

None really just removing the divider. I did the whole mod cutting at just shy of 2 inches with a heavy metal blade on a sawzall. Took me 2 hours with filing the edges. Truck does have slightly more power up above to about 3000 instead of 2500 and I never noticed a low end drop. Better mpg too but that probably came from fixing the leak...

Low end loss is negligible as stock the keg flows 180cfm and fully ported and cut you're luck if it flows 190cfm. Compare that to what actually causes a low end loss ie Mopar m1 at 270cfm or the Hughes AirGap at 255cfm. Not really any power gain so much as slight stretch of usable rpm.

Kegger mod doesn't give you any more power, it just moves where you get it up a couple hundred RPM.
