Noisy Clunking Chrysler 9.25” Rear End
Hello all, I'm looking for educated opinions on my clunking 9.25" rear end in my Dodge Ram 1500. The clunking/rattling only happens when coasting and when the driveshaft makes a full 360 degree rotation. Not sure if it's Yoke, Bearing, or Axle related. All gearing looks good with no sheered teeth. After looking at rear diff parts online, I am 99% sure the metal chunks I found are pieces of the clutch pack. Am going to do a rebuild but would like opinions on the noise so I know exactly what extra parts I might need to order. Thanks for your help and time.
EDIT: The more I read and hear from my mechanic friends makes me suspect a bad Crush Sleeve or the Carrier has dropped the clips which hold the friction plates in. The second would explain the noise and the chunks of clutch pack I found on the magnet. Will update further when I find the exact culprit.
