Default Running rough 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 L manual 4x4

Originally truck ran fine no issues at all.

Truck died and turned over but would not start.

Code said Crankshaft Position sensor issue. (Oops had camshaft position sensor here earlier)

Which when checked it was broken. Replaced and restarted ran ok but not when revved up till warmed up then ran crappy with codes stating issues with crankshaft positioning sensor, camshaft positioning sensor as well as ignition coil.

For the heck of it I changed ignition coil, distributor, cap, rotor and camshaft position sensor.

Cleared codes as well as PCM memory,

Checked plugs, wires all ok.

Still runs ok at idle when cold but not when revved up, then runs terrible when warms up.

Any ideas.

check wiring connections at the sensors, as well as at the PCM. Is the distributor shaft loose in the bore.

Checked all connections cleaned and shaft not loose

What gets me is that it ran perfect until broken crankshaft positioning sensor, you'd think that putting a new one in would solve the problem

Should I get a used or new OEM crankshaft position sensor

Hmmm... first post says broken cam position sensor, last one says broken crank position sensor. Confuzzling!

The hot ticket for both of those is to bite the bullet at the dealership parts counter. The aftermarket parts are iffy.

This.

Our trucks absolutely HATE aftermarket sensors in critical areas.

This should be chiseled in a marble slab at dealerships across the country. I'm still running all stock sensors on critical parts over 17 years old. Only ones I've touched are the O2s and I only swapped in NTK (OEM).
