Headers & Y pipe on, Plenum next...
So I finally have the pacesetter longtime headers and y pipe on and have to say I love the sound and can notice a difference. Unfortunately I was too cheap to upgrade to felpro gaskets and stage 8 bolts and already seem to have a leak so I will be fixing this in the next week or so. Upon looking at fel-pro's MS95480 it looks like I could remove every bolts but the last two bolts and slide in the new gasket to prevent having to struggle with alignment. Can this be done or should I remove everything? I will also be upgrading the intake to the air gap and before purchasing just wanted to make sure that I do not need the plenum plate with this upgrade correct? I will also replace the spark plugs and drop to a 180* stat.
Remflex dead-soft coppers for the header gaskets. Stage 8 locking header bolts. Put 'em on once, and you are done. Leak-free installation. Most gaskets I have seen have slots on the end holes, so you could take out all but the two outermost bolts, and then just drop the gaskets in. Will have to see what your gaskets look like when they show up. Take it from there.
Air Gap doesn't need the plenum repair. Ever.
What year is your truck? (this information REALLY should be in your sig.....) And what's the climate like where you live?
What's the rest of your exhaust system??

It's a 1999 and Im located in eastern NC. Hot/humid summers and mild winters. I looked at reflex but do not see any that just slide in like you say. These are the ones I was going to get. Are these okay, if not can you provide a link to what I need?

180 stat may annoy the PCM, and set a code. Engine too cold too long. Also, the engine will run a tad richer to try to get it to warm up. You may or may not notice the difference in fuel economy... (which really seems like a misnomer when applied to our trucks..... maybe I should just say "fuel consumption", as that is what our trucks are good at.
) Unless you have a tuner for your truck, I feel the 180 stat is pretty pointless.
Those gaskets look like they will work.

If you're wanting an SCT the ones for our truck have been discontinued and are pretty hard to find. Buddy of mine just got one from Hughes couple weeks ago and he said he had around a dozen then.
I just replaced the pacesetter gaskets with remflex after 2 weeks. The pacesetter gaskets were already crispy and had blown through. Highly suggest the remflex.

Are these the remflex you guys are talking about? I see that they recommend them to be torque down to 20 ft lbs yet my headers installation sheet reccommend 24, which should I go with?

Thanks everyone, so everything has been ordered but unfortunately won't be here until Monday. What do you guys use to tighten the bolts? I can't seem to get my torque wrench to fit on half of the bolts because of the tight fit and pipes being in the way.
