Scanner Tool wakes up PCM?
need your advice on buying these sensors. I find the NTK's at rockauto for $20 a piece cheaper than any parts store around here. The stores say its about the warranty they offer and rockauto doesn't do that. Are these sensors reliable enough to save the money or would you go with the extra price and be covered? Its a one year limited warranty.
Don't forget to include shipping in your cost analysis.
The parts stores are selling the same sensors...... I don't think I have ever seen a bad O2 sensor out of the box..... If it works good when you install it, it should work good for around 60K miles or so.

thanks, I normally wouldn't question a few extra bucks, but $20 extra for a $40 part made me wonder if they have problems with those things.
I didn't look at how much shipping was. good point

well, an acetylene torch, two monkey wrenches and about 3 hours, I got em out. I think I have road rash on my back too.
they managed to put a little protrusion on the lower part of the transmission body (where the pan bolts up) that I can't see what the point of it is except to be right in your way of a good hold once the head of the o2 sensor goes round on you. also had to drop the front drive shaft. I think I may double check my band adjustment while it's out. First time i did it, couldn't get the best angle on it.
This is up there with biggest pains in the asses.
Thanks for your help again.

That, and the long handle gives you LOTS of leverage. (and a big hammer doesn't hurt either.)
