Default Torque converter question

I've got a '94 5.9L that is going in an '01 1500 that had a 5.2L. Will the flxplate need the weights like it did in the later years, or since the engine is a 94, would they need to be on the torque converter? Or does it not matter as long as their on one or the other?

Just grabbing a flexplate for the 01 5.9 should take care of it for ya. Should have weights on it.

This was my thinking too, especially because the TC that goes on the 01 transmission has a different spline count than the 94 TC. SO the 01 flexplate and TC seem more logical. The balancing wont be any different will it? Using the 01 Flex and TC on a 94 wont effect the engine will it?

Nope. So long as the balance weights are there, somewhere, it's all good.
