Recommended trans service fluid/filter 42re
So, I've been perusing the threads here as I get ready to do a fluid/filter change on my truck. It's leaking/weeping from the trans pan seal, and I don't know when it was done previously, so I figure I might as well.
I've seen some posters talk about using the mopar filter and fluid, other using parts store filters and off the shelf ATF+4, and whatnot.
So, does anyone have any info on the Dodge parts counter fluid? Who it's bottled by, if it's better, or if it's the same as, say, the Castrol you can get at the box stores?
Also, if there's a difference in the filters, does anyone know what the differences are?
Just trying to look before I leap.

ATF +4 is ATF +4, no matter who makes it. There is no point in paying extra for the name on the label.
Same for filters. Just get a good filter kit, with the viton gasket. (not cork)
Might consider a drain plug as well.
Make the next fluid filter change much easier. (not to mention less messy.)

That's generally my impression too, with regard to ATF and filters. But I read some people here and there talking about the Mopar filters and mopar ATF and thought I'd ask.
Learning Dodge stuff requires some reading of the fine print at times, and you never know when. So best to ask first.
