Default AutoTrans return lines

Is getting an OEM transmission cooler return line (52028839AA) for the 46RE pretty much the only way to get a replacement?

No local or my usual online shops don't even have it listed (part# or description of it). I looked at some aftermarket brands (like dorman, edelmann) and they don't have a return line for the 5.2/5.9 V8s, only the 3.6 v6. I had picked up an Edelman brand upper pressure line off RockAuto for like $30 a few years ago.

The return line has the check valve and quick disconnect fitting on it, correct? Would that explain the price? I have the checkvalve deleted and replaced with fittings and a piece of hose, so I don't need a new checkvalve+disconnect.

Also the brackets holding the lines are pretty much shot, rusted away. When I've been to the junkyard I've tried to find a truck that wasn't rusted but they're usually in the same sad state my truck is in. I don't really want to spend much on this 15 year old truck so would zipties+rubber as a bushing, and keeping an eye on that every now and then be sufficient for the trans lines? I don't want to half-*** it but I don't want to spend big $$ at the dealer.

check valve is in the line going TO the cooler.

Why do you want to replace it?

zip ties, and insulators will work fine.

I live in the salt belt. The line is disintegrated and started pissing fluid all over the place. I don't trust wrapping it up. I don't want that crap in my trans.

Ya might just buy some hard line and fittings and create one yourself.

Yeah, the tubing is very easy to bend by hand, and the cool tool to help you along is only a few bucks.
