Hello forum. I'm a new member and discovered you guys while searching for an answer and documentation to troubleshoot a crank but fail to start issue on my 2001 8L V10 ram 2500. My plans are to check fuel pump - cam and crank sensor - coil pack ( I don't think that's the problem ) but want to eleminate it. For the cam and crank sensor it would be handy to check these at the PCM but am not finding info for test points at the connector. I'm assuming I should be able to see +5vdc , ground and signal there. Also this truck did not have the cover for the power distribution box when purchased so fuse location and function are not available, a source for that info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

You can download a service manual for your truck from this thread. It will have the layout of the PDC under the hood for ya.
Cam position sensor is just a hall effect switch, so, its either on, or off. I Do believe the crank sensor on the 10 is as well..... so, you should see voltage switching on the 'signal' wire while cranking. (reading this with a vom is gonna be tough, oscilloscope would be best, but, yeah, not everyone has one. The cam sensor should switch once per crankshaft revolution, crank sensor will prolly be ten times.......
Do the easy checks first. Make sure you are getting power at the injectors. (12 volts, but, only for about three seconds, unless the PCM sees the engine turning.) Check for spark on more than one cylinder...... I believe you have two modules, one with two coil packs, the other with three. Check for spark from at least one pack on each module.
Checking fuel pressure would be good too... Should be able to rent a gauge from your local parts store.
