Looking into freshening up an extra 318 long block I have and am looking at replacing the oil pump as a maintanence item. I don't have specific history on the motor but am wondering if the hv pump is worth it. Also wondering if anybody else beyond meller makes a quality one. Lastly if going to an hv pump is there other items that need to change to support that hv pump like drive rod or oil pan?

New pickup for the pump wouldn't hurt. Everything else should be good.
