Default Air conditioning issue(s)

So 3 years ago when bought my truck I quickly learned about the "wild vents" as my truck would blow out the defrost vents at WOT.

I got that fixed and the AC has been solid since.
Tuesday as I was leaving the Hot Rod Power Tours stop in Grand Prairie my air went straight to the defroster and it hasn't blown out the front vents since then.

I just got around to looking at it today and I have verified that there is vacuum at the line going into the firewall. That is my extent of the knowledge on this.

So what should I check next knowing that I have vacuum going into the firewall?

If I pull the vacuum line that goes into the firewall and try and blow into it nothing gets through.

This is the little plate inside the black "thing" that all of the vacuum lines hook to one the back of the AC controls

I'm thinking some of that gunky **** may have gotten sucked through that black vacuum line and clogged it

Thoughts?

If you look where the black line goes into the orange thing there is some white residue where it looks like some of that stuff has been sitting...

See if you can clean it out. Then check and see if you actually get vacuum there.

Is that black line in the back of the orange connector the same line that comes through the firewall?
